Fishing For Stars now a Penguin paperback

Bookmark

Fishing for Stars is a story of ambition, destruction, love, tears, laughter and hope.  At its heart are two passionate, unforgettable – and very different – women. One is exotic, damaged, and shrewd; the other beautiful, determined and zealous. Both are bitter rivals for the love of the same man.

Nick Duncan is an ingenuous male with a great deal more female on his hands than he can possibly hope to understand. The contest he is called upon to referee is the clash between the two great loves of his life: the seductive Anna Til, and the older, equally fascinating Marg Hamilton. Nick struggles between their worlds: one exploiting the world’s riches for profit, the other fighting to save the environment and its creatures, large and small.

Set in Australia, the Pacific islands, Japan and Indonesia during the latter half of the twentieth century, Fishing for Stars is the stunning sequel to The Persimmon Tree

I lit upon one of your books when I was travelling. I live in America. Unfortunately, your books are not readily available here so I have to import them. Please tell my the reason. Is it something to do with licensing agreements? A number of books that I purchase abroad say "Not for sale in America". Such a shame, because I know that you would have a huge market opportunity here if only the people knew of your work. Thank you for your stories they enhance my world.

Bryce, keep up the good work, I have most of your books and I am saving for the rest, a few dollars at a time,as I am on a disability pension, during times of chronic pain I read, and it seems to take a lot of the pain a way, so I'm waiting for your next book to come out as I have put in an order with my friends for a book voucher from the book store in Bowral, NSW.
    Keep up the good work.

I absolutely fell in love with your character, Nick Duncan, in Persimmon Tree, then just had to read Fishing for Stars to know what happened to the three characters. I thoroughly enjoyed both books. I was so intrigued with your including saving the Tasman wiilderness rivers, because my friends who are tree-huggers spoke about the events as they happened, back in the 70's at the Franklin River and the people whom you also, to my delight, mentioned in your book. Then there was your take on the Balibo Five! (I had to see the movie!) It is hard to really convince myself that you are a fiction writer, your stories just seem to be so REAL! Love your books, and love you, too!

My wife and I are big fans after purchasing a copy of Jessica at the Adelaide airport several years ago while visiting relatives. I was born in Perth but was raised in the U.S and am retired in the California gold country. I to am 75 years old. We have read all your books and just ordered Fishing for Stars after reading The Persimmon Tree. We even have a CD of the miniseries Jessica. (I have a CD player that plays your Australian PAL format) Looking forward to more enjoyable reading.

Thank you for another great book! Should have known you had another book in the works after The Persimmon Tree. Congratulations on turning 75 Y.O. but don't get any older Bryce, we couldn't carry on without your great books. Many, many thanks.
